Let's Clean Up
Let's Clean Up!
Every year, millions of tonnes of litter end up in nature. The primary causes of this littering issue are our society’s unsustainable production and consumption patterns, poor waste management strategies and a lack of awareness of citizens.
Do you want to be part of the solution?
Let's Clean Up
Help keeping this amazing work of art by mother nature clean. Especially on the banks of Mae Tang River a lot of plastic and other litter is to be found after the floodings of the rainy season every year.
Join our team in giving something back to nature by collecting the litter during our "Let's Clean Up" tour and after the tour our team will bring all litter that has been collect during this tour to a recycling plant.
Volunteering for nature
Save 50% of our 2-days/1-night tour rate and grant two days of your life to nature and join all our guides volunteering in helping mother nature staying clean by collecting litter like plastic bottles & bags and help cleaning up along the trekking trails of our 2-days/1-nights trekking routes, the villages we visit and the river banks that we float along with our bamboo rafts.
Included in the "Let's Clean Up" tour is:
Volunteering for nature with Chiang Mai Trekking
|08:30 AM we will pick you up at your hotel in Chiang Mai and will then do a 40 minute drive
to a domestic market where we spend approx. 20 minutes to gather provisions for the tour.
Another 30 minute drive on the domestic route along a steep road will bring us to Mork Fa waterfall where you can swim in this relaxing place with wonderful views.
After visiting the waterfall and a short drive later you will have lunch and some time to rest alongside the road in a small restaurant. We will do the cooking for you and you can enjoy your first authentic Thai-Food prepared by us.
After lunch and another 45-60 minutes drive by car we will reach the drop-off and here the trekking part of your tour will begin and you will enter the dense jungle with us.
You will be equipped with tongs and trash bags, your guide will lead the way into the amazing nature and while experiencing all the different impressions along your way you can help mother nature by collecting any litter in that might be found along the route.
The route is a harder route (hence, it is not recommended for children) with longer hiking through the jungles but it rewards with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains.
We will reach a village of the Karen hill tribe after about 3.5 hours of trekking and at an altitude of about 1,400 meters above sea level.
You will spend the night in a simple wooden hut at the edge of the small village.
You will have the chance to take a shower and refresh yourself and we will prepare dinner for you.
Before it gets dark, you can wander through the village and enjoy the evening scene of the surrounding mountains. Among other things you can see the top of Thailands 3rd highest mountain, Doi Chiang Dao (2,175 meters above sea level).
Sit on the deck in front of your hut near the small creek and enjoy the evening, listen to the sounds of the nightly jungle and zip a soft drink or a beer if you wish.
|After breakfast we will be leaving the Karen village and do some more hiking and collect litter along the way through the lush nature for about 1 hour
until we reach the starting point of the next adventure of the tour: the bamboo rafting.
Each bamboo raft can accommodate 6-8 persons and their luggage, which is placed on a rack in the middle of the boat so that it is safe from the water.
While floating down the creek we will collect the litter left and right on the banks of the creek that is stuck in the bushes and trees after the floodings during the rainy season.
The creek is not very deep most of the way and you can wade through the water to assist our guides in cleaning the banks or removing fallen trees here and there if possible.
Once we reach the Shan village after about 6 km, you can refresh yourself and will have lunch and if there is time, you can wander around the small village and across a long wooden hanging bridge and bid farewell to the rain forest.
From the Shan village we will leave the rain forest and drive back to Chiang Mai (approx. 2 hours). Arrival in Chiang Mai will be around 5:00 PM.
There might be other guests with you in a group tour

Wonderful and exciting experience
I?ve booked a trekking tour with a group, quite spontaneously. Without any problems I joined a nice group with our guide Dat at the wished date. Dat was very hilarious, entertaining and also professional at the same time. He was always courteous and safety was his first priority.
